Unfortunately, leaders often mistake everyone for being on the same page, but they’re not. A high performing culture doesn’t happen overnight – but breaking trust destroys a culture instantly. Driving change and transformation are exciting aspects of your role, but can become frustrating when resistance is encountered overtly, or more often covertly.

Team dynamics, dysfunction and power struggles are all too common that can derail best efforts if not addressed and leave your team dis-engaged affecting performance, happiness and productivity.

With today’s uncertainty, complexity and never ending demands on your time, it can be stressful and overwhelming juggling all the moving parts and still have a life. I know how it feels and you are not alone.

Where it all began...

IIn my 20s, I stepped into a leadership role with a small sales team for a multinational company and quickly learned the power of aligning cross-functional teams to achieve our goals. It's my natural strength, though I didn't know it at the time. Completing an MBA helped to round my buisness knowledge and skills which is where I discovered a passion for people, personal development and leadership.

Over the next decade, I led customer service teams of up to 400 people in the insurance industry, discovering the impact of creating a high-performing and inclusive culture. As an Executive, I embraced the responsibilities of the role but faced the challenges of politics, lack of support, and dysfunctional team dynamics.

This led to a values-based decision to quit the corporate world due to the misuse of power that affected not only me but also the culture. After seeing talented people broken, I knew their had to be a better way.

Disillusioned and not sure of my next step, I took time out for my family and reflection. I focused on personal growth, uncovering my strengths and passions, which I discovered was always about developing people! This led to the creation of my own business.

The phone rang. People who had worked with me in the past reached out for help and I fell into Mentoring and Coaching Leaders and running Team Development Workshops. Today, I help leaders break through limits, build empowered teams, and use conflict constructively.
